Evan B. Harris is an exceptional folk artist from Oregon. We found his artwork from the cover of the (emotionally devastating) documentary Dear Zachary. His website hasn’t been updated for a while but there is some recent work in his flickr stream. As usual, a few more pieces are included after the break.

Beautifully soft images. The people look as though life has been suspended in some awful, sad, reflective logic, like the greatest threat to joy is thinking too hard on life. They look consumed. Such a subtle, tranquil palette lends itself well to this type of expression. Even the elephant looks so sick of being the elephant it is that it is working hard to pass off.
