Playge Stainless Sqube

Playge

This relic is the 1″ Stainless Steel Sqube by Playge. It is made to order for a limited time, so the ‘edition size’ is unknown but possibly quite small. The cost is $85 shipped to USA and it drops today, May 25th at 12 Noon Central Time. Also, according to the Playge Owner / Operator / Wizard FERG, all orders by members of the Collect And Destroy forums will receive a signed and numbered mini print with your purchase.

While you’re there, check out the sweet Playge T-Shirt designed by everyone’s favorite, Aaron Horkey. Image after the break. (more…)

Damon, Carlton and a Polar Bear

LOST

I’ve hesitated to post about this site for a while due to the quickness that most of the artprints they release are sold-out, but since it is the last week of the show, what better time is there to feature such an awesome collection of artwork for what is arguably one of the best character-driven television shows ever made. Besides, there are a few new silkscreen prints that are still available!

Damon, Carlton and a Polar Bear references the names of the executive producers of the show LOST and of course, a polar bear (inside joke). What the name represents is a series of art prints and clothing by some of the coolest working artists around. You can check out their vast gallery of sold out art prints, and browse their current available offerings. They have a few cool silkscreen prints still available featuring images of season 6. Guy Burwell’s latest offering stands out in particular.

If you’re a fan of the show as much as I am, you’ve got to check this site out. This LOST merch definitely trumps the official ABC merch store, and with such handsomely-designed products, you’re sure to be looking good even after everyone’s forgotten who Penny is 🙂 (more…)

Thomas Hooper

Thomas Hooper

If your familiarity with the modern tattoo world goes beyond reality television and the ever-present-over-saturated Ed Hardy gear, you may have heard of New York Adorned’s resident Englishman, Thomas Hooper. Hooper’s tattoos are renown for his beautifully stippled ornamental mandalas, an illustrative style that echos both eastern and western traditions, inspiration from masonic and alchemist symbology and a respect for geometry that would make M.C. Escher smile. Most surprising is his painting blog featuring daily abstract mixed media paintings whose color and chaos stand in contrast to his meticulous tattoo work.

If you aren’t ready for permanent body art, he put some great designs on tee-shirts over at Shirts & Destroy and customizable phone cases for Case Mate. Also make sure to check out his store for original paintings and giclee prints.

Johnny Cupcakes Tour Videos

Johnny Cupcakes recently hit the road and is holding meet-and-greet events around the country. At the Johnny Cupcakes Blog, you can enjoy short documentary-style films about each stop on his tour. All of the shorts are very inspiring to any young entrepreneur, and feature fans of the line at interesting locations. For example, I was pretty impressed by the interior design at Wish in Atlanta, GA. The Suitcase Tour goes into May, so make sure to bookmark the blog and keep revisiting for new videos.
