Shepard Fairey has a show opening tonight at his Subliminal Projects Gallery. The show is called “Printed Matters” and according to the artist, focuses on the concept of mass production as much of his art already does. To commemorate the show, he is releasing a very limited silkscreen print in an odd size of 11″x16″ for only $25.  As usual, the print is signed and numbered from an edition of 300. This print features the iconic loom image last used on a 2002 print, with this one adding much more collage texture to the image. Shepard Fairey has a new print coming out that is really a break from the norm for him. “Arctic 50th Anniversary Print” commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. This touching image is based on a photograph by Steven Kazlowski and is only an edition of 250 for $55ea. A portion of the proceeds go to the Alaska Wilderness League. Audrey Kawasaki has a beautiful new giclee print coming out tomorrow, September 4th at 1:00pm pacific time. “Migawari” is a 15″x19″ image on a 16″x20″ sheet of smooth cotton rag paper. The edition size is limited to only 200.

You can pick this up tomorrow unframed for $200, or framed for $450. The frame appears to be quite substantial and Audrey’s team takes great care in shipping her work.

While a majority of the incredible art shows are limited to the coasts, sometimes we get the occasional gem in the midwest. Aaron Horkey’s Midwestern Heart is a selection of drawings from 2003-2010. Aaron has also produced a breathtaking art print for the opening which can be seen in full below. After the opening, prints will be made available online and we’ll keep you posted with release information. Tara McPherson has two new giclee prints coming out Monday, August 30th at 3 PM EST. Each piece is an edition of only 100 and  features a UV protective varnish. If you haven’t seen one of Tara’s prints in person I can attest that they are quite well made and the varnish gives a very rich quality to the print’s surface. Each print is $250. You can purchase one or both along with several other similar prints at the artist’s webstore.

Gallery 1988 has just released two versions of these three images painted by Rich Pellegrino for their “Crazy 4 Cult” show. The three paintings feature Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka, John Goodman as Walter from The Big Lebowski, and Bruce Campbell as Ash from the Evil Dead trilogy. The brushwork in these is really great, and my favorite piece is Wonka, although he’s my least favorite character of the three.

All three images are available as extremely affordable giclee prints in sizes 13″x19″ for $75ea, or 8.5″x11″ for $25ea. Each size and image has a different edition amount but all are 50 pieces or less. You can browse the full list of prints and more at Gallery 1988.
