Sylvia Ji has a show currently on display at Joshua Liner Gallery in NYC featuring some stunning new works. “Las Adelitas” is showing alongside Travis Louie’s “Curious Myths.” For those of us who cannot make it to the show to see these works in person, you can view large images of selected works from each artist’s show at the gallery website. Both shows run through August 7th.
To commemorate the show, the gallery has produced two extremely limited prints of paintings from “Las Adelitas”. “Red Quechquemitls” and “Te Adoro” are 20″x24″ giclees in editions of 50 for $200 ea. You can see the full images and more below. (more…)

Gallery 1988’s Crazy 4 Cult show has produced some great art prints. Among them are these great little giclees by Scott Campbell. “Showdowns #4” is a 5 print set of small 4 3/4 x 4 3/4 inch prints, in an edition of 75 for only $65.00. These prints feature characters from Lord of the Rings, The Shining, Die Hard, Office Space, and The Big Lebowski. Mark Weaver is an illustrator and designer who has done some pretty impressive work. His latest cover for How To Destory Angels new (free – download here) ep caught my eye and prompted a google search to discover his portfolio. Especially cool is browsing through his Make Something Cool Every Day project, where Mark challenged himself to do exactly that.
Weaver has several screenprints available in his webstore, although some of my favorite offerings of his are currently sold out. You can also pick up some screenprinted postcards that just might be too cool to actually send.More images after break. (more…)

If you live in Chicagoland you should get in on this. Saturday, July 10th, from 12-2PM, Travis Lampe will be at a live signing at Rotofugi, located at 1953-55 W. Chicago Ave. There you can meet the artist, get his autograph on some Lampe merch, give him a fist bump, or even a bear hug (please wear deodorant for the latter).

Shepard Fairey‘s lastest print, entitled “America’s Favorite” is a great new addition to his catalog of releases. We’re particularly fond of his canvas-based textured prints. “America’s Favorite” comes in two editions, in red and silver. These prints are 18″ x 24″, editions of 400 for $50. The prints will be released today, Thursday July 8th at a random time at Obey Giant. This simple and nicely-rendered image is an homage to Ed Ruscha and his “Standard Station” series of paintings and prints (see below). Chicago has long since been the home of great musicians and artists of all sorts and talents. On July 22, Uncommon Ground is releasing a new show called, Noise. Noise is a collection of many screen prints from different artists, and their interpretations of the music in their lives. The show features many artists, such as Steve Walters, Dan Grzeca, Kathleen Judge, Dan Crosshair, Johnny Sampson, and many more!

Shepard Fairey’s next print is another portrait from his latest show at Deitch Projects. This time it is Iggy pop based on the photo by Ed Perlstein. The print is an 18″x24″ screen print in a signed and numbered edition of 450 for $65. You can pick this up if you’re fast enough on July 1st at a random time. Tim Doyle is an illustrator from Austin, TX who runs Nakatomi Inc. His style is hand drawn, colorful and notably diverse. Doyle has produced a lot of products and amazingly still available is his “The Sea Also Rises – King of Crabs” print, seen above. This 5 color silkscreen measures 19″x25″ and is an edition of 150 for only $30. If you don’t care about purchasing limited items, Doyle also has his illustrations on a Zazzle store, which lets you pick up skateboards, mousepads, and even shoes adorned with his incredible imagery. Mondo Tees has teamed up with Lucasfilm to release a liscenced Star Wars poster series, which is pretty great news. The first in the series is by Jeff Soto. It measures 24″x36″ and is hand numbered. The print is an edition of 350 and is only $50. This is super cheap for a Soto print, not to mention a Star Wars licensed print at such a large size! The print is available right now at MondoTees and probably won’t last long. Limit 1 per person. Full image after the break.
UPDATE #1: Sold out already! But still, enjoy the image! Apparently Soto has some of these to sell at a later date on his own site. We’ll keep an eye open for you.
