London artist Eelus has a new print available that caught my eye. “Dress Up” is such a simple image, but uses an insane 31 colors. This 28″x28″ silkscreen print is an edition of 120, but a hefty price tag of £225 (Roughly $333 American) has kept this print from selling out. If you like it, you can pick one up for yourself here. Kenn Twofour wrote us about his newest release;
“Smaller versions of some pieces I made for a recent gallery show. The larger versions went over really well at the opening and I wanted to make a more affordable version with a bigger edition size. They are screenprinted, spray painted, stenciled and hand cut into layers.”
8×11 on 1/4 inch wood. Four layers.1/4 inch between each layer.Signed and numbered in an edition of 6. $100.00 each.

Painter Mark Brown has a show titled “Daydreams” opening tonight at Gallery 1988 in San Francisco, CA. Information about the show can be found here. To accompany the show opening, the gallery has produced an extremely limited and affordable giclee print titled “Mmm… Candy”. The print measures 16×20 inches and is limited to only 35 pieces, signed and numbered. You can buy it at the Gallery 1988 Website.

Disney has a new line of ‘urban art’ inspired products called, Bloc28; a high quality pen with Retro 51 which features a spray paint cap click-top. They sport Graffiti Inspired Mickey Mouse artwork which looks really cool. You can preorder them here.

On June 18 Dead Arts Publishing is announcing the release of Aaron Horkey’s Retrospective Letterpress Series. This will be part 1 in a 6 part series, with the rest coming out soon. Series 1 will costs $260 and will be limited to the amount sold in a 4 hour window on Friday June 18th (10am-2pm PST)
While photos of the actual product remain scarce, you can imagine the quality of these images meets Horkey’s eye for detail. You can get an idea of the actual product by the photo above. Images included in the first installment of this series are: The Rook (newly created for Series 1), The Scavenger (Fantomas – seen above), Drifting Monument (Racebannon) and Goatmeal (Melvins). Each of these images are available for purchase seperately as well, except The Rook, info after the break.

Sandy Skoglund has been working as an artist for decades, trying different techniques and styles. In my opinion, she really hit her stride in the 80s-90’s when she created fascinating images incorporating live models in sets filled with sculpture.
