Dan McCarthy is a fantastic artist who I’ve been a fan of for quite some time. He has a new art print available for purchase on his website entitled “All Alone Is All We Are”. This gloomy print is a 5-color silkscreen which measures 18″x18″ and costs $40 shipped ($45 international). Limit of 2 per person.

Guy Burwell is an artist out of Portland that creates some really fantastic illustrations. His work full of life and colorful characters. Currently, he has a gallery show at the Screaming Sky Gallery in Portland, Oregon running April 29th through May 23. “Folks 1,2,3” features new works by the artist and primarily focuses on “wood prints” (small prints on wood panels).

John Dyer Baizley is a painter and musician working out of Savannah, Georgia. He provided the artwork for the latest Flight of the Conchords album. He also does work for other independent bands. He produces art, plays guitar, and sings in his own band Baroness. Recently, he has started to provide artwork for the magazine Guitar World. His style draws mostly from the heavy music scene but don’t go into it thinking it’s all going to be skulls and upside down crosses. This guy has some genuine skills and some really elegant work.
Baizley frequently releases silkscreen prints so we’ll begin to update you about them as they drop.

My buddy Tomas from Streetlight Manifesto just shared this awesome illustration created by Dan Hipp for his band’s latest tour. When I checked out his blog, I was blown away by a ton of impressive, brightly-colored, expressive illustrations. Dan Hipp has his own graphic novel titled Gyakushu (Buy Volume 1, Volume 2) and The Amazing Joy Buzzards (Buy Volume 1, Volume 2), and does freelance illustration for a variety of clients. Aaron Horkey and Jay Ryan have teamed up to create what is probably the most important art print release in recent memory. “Versus” is a 25 color screenprint hand crafted by the artists over a span of 12 days at Jay Ryan’s Bird Machine studio. The most fascinating thing is the documentary of the print creation. You can follow all of the steps posted by Jay Ryan at gigposters.com’s forum. Behind the scenes photos of the process are abundant, as well as commentary by Ryan and the gigposter community. Full detail shots of this incredible print are included after the break.
